Rosa Parks:
When Rosa Parks was young she had to deal with a lot of racial discrimination. When her parents broke up Rosa went to live with her mother to Pine Level, Alabama. Her grandparent were former slaves and protected Rosa when the Ku Klux Klan walked down the street. Rosa attended segregated school . She dropped out of high school at 11th grade to be with her sick grandmother. She never went back and got a job in a shirt factory. She later married a barber named Raymond Parks. With her husbands help Rosa got her high school degree. She eventually became the secretary for president Nixon. When Rosa Parks wouldn't give her seat up for a white man. Rosa worked with Martin Luther King Jr. on the Civil Rights movement. And she worked against racial discrimination.

my favorite black history month person is martin luther king jr because he was the person to free the black people from being slaves for the white people and he also made history with rosa parks because she was riding in front of the bus and then a white person came into the bus and the bus driver told rosa parks to give up her seat for the white person and she would have to go all the way to the back of the bus then they called the cops and tell them about rosa parks and then they would take her downtown and then in jail.

Black History is good for Martin Luther King Jr. He changed all the rulls of Black and white. He also said white and black people should be together and make friends and not be enemy with other people. White people didin't want that to happen because mostly they like white people only. Then The white people tried to burn Martin Luther King Jr. and then they killed him. So all the black people were sad about him and how he died. Later on black and white were friends they weren't enemys again.

Jackie Robinson
I learned that he was the first black person to play baseball in the Major leagues. He was also the first black man to win the rookie of the year. Another thing that I learned about him is that he was the first black man to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. He also was a vice president of a company or foundation called Chock full of nuts. Those are some things that I learned about Jackie Robinson.

I think Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important man. He helped our nation by making a speech about people who didnt like other races. He got treated badly along with other black people that is why he made the speech called "I Have A Dream". Martin Luther King Jr. was killed by getting shot. Black history month is a month to remind us of what all these black people did for us and how they made a lot of things change and change is good.

Black History is really important because it shows you that people could make it different.
For example Rosa Parks she set the African American free. She thought it wasen't fair for them to sit all the way of the back of the bus or to give up their sit just because they were black. She did not give up and she kept fighting and she made it different.

Martin Luther King Jr:

I like Martin Luther king jr because he did a very big change in America and many other places. He helped african americans be able to use many things that used to be for whites only. i think t his was important because now every race can come into any school in America. He also made a big difference by standing up to these people who liked slavery and didnt let them go into schools. a significant thing was that he led many people to go with him and they helped end the racism.

Rosa Parks sood up for what she belived in. A lot of people say diffrent things, like she was tired so she did not want to give up her seat, but that is not true. I like how she did that. A lot of people don't do that. If I lived in a time like that I maybe wouldn't have of stood up like that. She is a very good role model.

I have picked Martin Luther King, Jr. as the person I would like to tell for Black History month. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a non-violence supporter for America. He protested against violence, and he became famous for his "I Have A Dream" speech. He gave all African-Americans freedom, and he was an idol to most people. Without Martin Luther King, Jr., the world wouldn't be what it is now.

Juan said...

if i had to pick somebody it would be Martin Luther king jr because he helped many people get along. He fought without fist but he fought with words. He did not like violence he liked people to get along. he was an important person because he helped the African Americans get along with wights. if it were not for him the world would not be the way it is now.

Yes, it is true that black history month is a month dedicated to African-Americans everywhere. And it's also true that black history month is very important, too. The reason why it's in Febuary (some of you might know this already) is because some famous blacks were born in Febuary, some of their greatest deeds are in Febuary, and also, Febuary is the best time to celebrate it. Of all the famous black people in Black history month, Iwould have picked Martin Luther King Jr. My reasoning is without Martin Luther King Jr. blacks today wouldn't have their independence. It would be just how it vas in the late 1800s and early 1900s. That is my statement about black history month and how important it is to African-Americans everywhere.

Martin luther king Is a famous person because he let black people have the same rights as white people. He got shot by someone. He wouldn't give up until he completed his goal which was let blacks have the same rights as whites. He had a speech for peace and freedom.

Martin Luther King Jr. is my favorite person who change everyones life. He asked for freedom because he didn't what to live his life with out freedom. He when to jail because he wanted freedom. But the president took him out of jail. He also lost his house because they didn't like what he did.

For my topic I chose Rosa Parks, because she inspires me to stand up for myself and so no one will mess with me. I learned that Mrs. Parks did not give up her seat on the bus to a "white" person so she went to jail and her boycott lasted 381 days. After she got out of jail she still had a commitment and so she attended marches, she spoke about what needs to be changed, and she did a co-founding for Self Development. Now she is a candidate for the NAACP and the Woman's Right Movement. Rosa Parks is a special woman and she did not take no for a answer.

Martin luther king is a important person in the history of the diaspora because he was the first african american who went against segregation. This affects us in life today because we don't have the separation between white and black. This is important to me and my family because we can be with people and not get in trouble because they are a different race

I really like Rosa Parks and what she stood for. She had a lot of courage and I really adored that. In the moment that she didn't give up her seat for that person was when history changed forever. She became famous for her courage. Even though not many people at that time had the courage Rosa had, it still affected them. I am really glad we celebrate Black History Month. I mean we just can't forget all the people in the past that have made a difference. I think it's important to remember and this month is the best way to remember Rosa Parks and other brave people like her.

I learned that he started out as a comedian and then became a TV producer. I learned that he made a T.V. series called I Spy from 1965 to 1968. This was his first series ever. I didn't know that he served in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960. Cosby recieved four Emmy Awards and eight Grammy Awards for comedy recordings. Bill Cosby was a good man.

I think Rosa Parks is incredible because she believed that all men were to be treated equally. She didn't want to give up her seat on the bus. Back then they would seperate black and white. When a white man came and there were no more seats in the white man section she had to give up her seat and so did other people. She refused to lose her seat she simply told her driver that she was tired and would not give up her seat. He called the police and the police cuufed her. She then went to jail. After that she worked with Martin Luther King jr on the equalness of each race!

Some new things I learned about Jackie Robinson was that he said that he doesnt want to loose. I also didnt know that Jackie Robinson was defending for the racisism he was givin. Another fact that I didnt know about Jackie Robinson was that he thought baseball was like poker. One fact that I just learned about Jackie Robinson was that he was interested in peoples citizinship. The last new fact that I learned about Jackie Robinson is that he was the first Major League Baseball player to be honored on a U.S. postage stamp.

Rosa Parks:
One day on her way home from work,in Montgomery, Alabama, she got on her bus and she had sit in "THE BLACK SECTION" and she did. Then a couple bus stops came and a white man came on the bus, and there weren't any seats left in "THE WHITE SECTION" so the bus driver told Rosa to get up from her sit and stand so that white man could sit there. And she refused to give up her seat because she was so tired to stand. So the bus driver said it again and she refused again and the bus driver said that he would call the police and she said that she wouldn't care. So he did and she got arrested for NO REASON!!!!!!
Martin Luther King Jr.:
Martin Luther is a GREAT MAN! He helped whites and blacks get along and he stopped that discrimination! Martin Luther King Jr.,gave lot of great speeches to stop it. One of his MOST FAMOUS SPEECH was "I Have A Dream",during March in Washington. But one year this man shot Martin Luther King Jr. because he didn't like him and his speeches.
