Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Excel (full name Microsoft Office Excel) is a spreadsheet application written and distributed by Microsoft for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables and a macro programming language called VBA (Visual Basic for Applications). It is overwhelmingly the dominant spreadsheet application available for these platforms and has been so since version 5 in 1993, and is bundled as part of Microsoft Office. Excel is one of the most popular microcomputer applications to date.

Students have access to a similar program called Spreadsheets in Google Documents. Students can sign in to their LAUSD email accounts and go to Google Documents to access the program and complete any Excel projects that might be necessary.

Excel Tutorials can be found here: http://its.leesummit.k12.mo.us/excel.htm

Birthday Events

March 16th is an important day for me!! Many other events occurred on the same day I was born.

I discovered that James Madison, “Father of the Constitution,” was born the same day as me in 1751.

The Beatle's smash album Can't Buy Me Love is released on this day in 1964.

In 1945, during World War II, the west Pacific volcanic island of Iwo Jima is declared secured by the U.S. military after months of fiercely fighting its Japanese defenders.

What happened on your birthday? Please post in the comment sections. (Use your LAUSD email account to register or post anonymously.)
